Great Resources to Help Your Healing

Potatoes Not Prozac is the Foundation of the program. It gives you the theory behind the steps and an in-depth look at the rationale for the process.
The Sugar Addict’s Total Recovery Program is the perfect how-to manual as you get started.

Little Sugar Addicts is the ideal resource for parents and caregivers. Learn how best to guide your children.

Your Body Speaks will teach you the best of journaling. It contains daily quotes from Kathleen and a valuable outline for tracking your food and feelings.

Radiant Recipes is more than a cookbook. It outlines how to calculate your protein needs, how to work with browns and the art of substitution.

Your Last Diet is the perfect resource if you are ready to heal your body and lose weight in a sane and thoughtful way.

Arem, Ridha, The Thyroid Solution

This is THE best resource on thyroid issues I have found!

Northrup, Christiane. Women's Bodies: Women's Wisdom. An excellent all around resource manual for women's health issues. I highly recommend it to my clients. She also has a great newsletter. A new edition of this book will be published soon.

Northrup, Christiane  The Wisdom of Menopause : Creating Physical and Emotional Health and Healing During the Change  is the best resource for going through menopause.

Stoll, Andrew The Omega 3 Connection is an EXCELLENT resource for learning about Omega 3 fatty acids. I highly recommend it.

Simopoulos, Artemis P. The Omega Diet is a wonderful addition to the fatty acid story.

Erasmus, Udo Fats That Heal, Fats That Kill  is an excellent resource book. Udo knows fats and oils. It is very technical at times, and not well organized, but lots of useful information.

Haas, Elson The False Fat Diet  is actually an excellent resource on food allergies. The title is somewhat misleading. If you are concerned about allergy, read this book.

Beattie, M., Codependent No More. is a classic to help you deal with codependency. This is a wonderful tool for every woman to have.

Black, C., It Will Never Happen To Me!The book that started my healing as a child of an alcoholic.

Cameron, J., The Artist's Way. is a wonderful support to any healing process. I do morning pages every day. I love her approach to learning more about yourself.

Cameron, J., The Artist’s Way Journal is the journaling book I use to track my morning pages.

Dufty, W., Sugar Blues. 1975, New York, NY: Warner Books.

Sugar Blues is the grand daddy of the sugar story. It is always fun to go back to it.

Eades, M.D., Michael and M.D. Eades, Mary Dan, Protein Power. The Eades have done a great job in bringing us back to protein and a little healthy fat. This book is well done and offers good information. It does not talk about the need for timed carbohydrates to boost your serotonin levels.

Fredericks, C., PhD, Carlton Fredericks' New Low Blood Sugar and You.Fredericks has great insight. I love his books. Use your new information to assess which parts of his recommendations will work for you.

Lamott, A., Bird by Bird. 1994, New York: Doubleday. When I had to confront my "first draft", Lamott's book pulled me through. I love this book and reread it often.

Theodosakis, Jason, Adderly, Brenda, and Fox, Barry,  The Arthritis Cure: The Medical Miracle That Can Halt, Reverse, and May Even Cure Osteoarthritis. This is an excellent resource for people dealing with arthritis. Add it to the PnP plan and you'll have a good combo.
