I'd like to add to these responses with my own experience. A few years ago I began the healing process from sugar addiction and found the Radiant Recovery steps to be really workable with successful results. Of course, as with any addiction, there have been ups and downs.

I am not a stranger to depression, which I treated through cognitive therapy and a bit of anti depressants, but I haven't taken those for a very long time.

Recently, anxiety and stress got the best of me (and my two children) and I have been diagnosed with severe ADD. I just started taking Concerta and a huge fog has been lifted from my shoulders.

Do I think I could live without the meds if I was sugar-free? You bet! I've lived it, radiantly. Could I get through the steps to get back to that lifestyle feeling as bad as I have been? No way.

In my case, I think one feeds the other, etc. When I am "in the valley" of ADD and at the end of my rope, it takes so much energy to focus just to get basic tasks accomplished and takes so much energy to try to stimulate myself to motivate, there was nothing left to dedicate to self care.

I have known the joy of living radiantly. I'm really excited to see what potential can be reached when my brain is not "swimming through pudding".

Best wishes for radiance.
