I'm so glad to hear from you, Trish! I completely commiserate with the whole being attracted to foods I can't have. I bet at least part of it is the beta-endorphin rush that I think Allison mentioned. The other part for me, I think, is the psychology of someone telling me I "can't" have something. Makes me want to have it more. I've always had issues with deprivation.
I'm still figuring out how I'm going to eat moving forward. I just returned from Disneyland where I ate terribly, so now I want to get moving forward in a healthy way. Today I want to get a big piece of paper and create some sort of pictorial for myself that shows why I want to eat better and what kinds of foods make me feel better. I think I want to document a bit of this journey, too. Feels like something I need to get down on paper.
I have so much more to learn about myself, but I'm willing to try and figure it out.
