Re: peanut butter?

Hi Allison, hope you don't mind I ask you, as you seem to know a lot about culinary related stuff =)

I was recently told and recommended by my GP doctor to avoid tree nuts, and I've known I had peanut allergies for awhile now. not life-threatening but the unpleasant reactions of indigestion and skin / throat inflammation.

I have heard of coconut butter and maybe there are other things out there that can work as peanut butter. Do you have any idea or recomendations? I've seen something called biscoff or speculoos spread, and wondered if that is something i could try with my ezekiel bread. thank you =)
: The natural type peanut butters, the
: ones that aren't homogenized and
: have oil on the top in the jar
: tend not to have added sugar,
: although in the early steps you
: don't have to worry about that.

: If you buy that kind of peanut butter
: and turn the jar upside down for a
: couple of days before opening,
: it's easier to mix the oil in and
: you don't end up with really dry
: stuff in the bottom. You can also
: dump the whole jar into a bowl and
: mix it up with an electric mixer.
