Re: resistance
In Response To: resistance ()

oh, loads Maria LOL
I was grumpy and rebellious :h6)

this lasted all my quick straight-through-steps and then through my more mindful repeat :h6) ........... by the end of step three though it started to fall away. I think, not so much by my effort. The steps just did it for me

I always seemed to want something to rail against. Resistance to doing it seemed to fit that category. I guess it might have been for me a beta endorphin seeking. Steps were very steadying for me in this. I learnt to take all my powerful focus of "its not fair" and I don't want to do that" and shine that energy on the step instead

one huge thing at the time was wanting to have breakfast late at the weekend. I was realy unsettling me, I could tell my body was liking the routine of 7 am. At that time, Allison was posting about how to get up, shake, back to bed. I did NOT want to do this :s9( :s8( :s9( But I did give it a go with bad grace :h6) Just to see. It worked marvellously. Thus I learned that sometimes its the things I resist most that are the most healing

So congratulations on your step one because I believe you have made an excellent start there. :h12) Keep posting because I think it really helps to post and besides Id like to hear more :h5)

: I've been on step one for a while. I
: feel I've made a little bit of
: progress. I am excited about this
: process and I believe it will
: help. But sometimes I have so much
: resistance to actually *doing* it.
: I have a trait of wanting to do
: things my own way, and I know that
: won't work.

: People who've been around a while,
: did you feel this way when you
: started? How did you get past it?

: Thanks.
