Re: acid indigestion
In Response To: Re: acid indigestion ()

: oh commiserations ! I had this
: lifelong too and it was so much
: worse when I was doing the healthy
: thing of porridge only for
: breakfast I remember. And gluten
: foods don't suit me so well yet
: they were my favourites. I would
: stockpile Ryvita while grumbling
: how it gave me horrible heartburn
: :h6)

: so adding in the protein was a good
: thing :h11) it helped.

: since then I have just proved that
: journal is my best friend. so
: = Journal
:
Journal
: Journal
that's my advice
: :h4)

: my own quirks are things like weak
: decaf .. for some reason I thrive
: on strong decaf and I like my own
: so I trek it about wherever I
: go...... instant coffee gets me
: alarming so I choose the ground
: expensive stuff :h6)

: I do really well with enough fats and
: proteins in my meals, and sure to
: eat enough, as too little is
: counterproductive for me, and what
: I consider "ballast"
: foods that weigh nice in my
: tummy.... satisfying things like
: homemade coleslaw, brussels
: sprouts, roasted Mediterranean
: vegetables

: in that vein also I like to make an
: oily dressing with red wine or
: cider vinegar, as I am sure it is
: soothing to my stomach acid......
: it just "feels" right to
: me

: I do feel greek yogurt is right as
: well , but that might actually be
: just because I like it :h6) :h6)

: so yes, my first big breakthrough was
: not eating brown/ complex carb
: alone, so steps were most helpful.
: The rest of listening to myself
: about it was gradual though mostly
: in step seven, and a fun quest

: I'm sure it will be different things
: for different stomachs, but find
: it all of interest so do let us
: know if it settles for you. what
: step are you doing right now?

Im on Step 7 although I had a rough time recently, had my appendix taken out so my diet went down the tubes while I didnt feel like eating much, so got off balance, then went to the beach for a week without preparing, ate what was there, and my acid went thru the roof! terrible pain.
So now I am back on track, feel great after singing the blues, low self esteem, terrible thoughts, all the old bad stuff, but since getting back in the swing of things wanted to focus on my acid,

To get my mind right, my energy level good, I have a good eating plan,
eating within an hour of getting up, protein and brown with each meal no sugar,
all is very good and natural, I do feel great,

But i always, always had acid indigestion, but with PnP its much much less.

Now, though, keeping my food journal, I noticed I never wrote on my acid problem, just mood energy etc. I dont know why, maybe I was happy it was better.

So today Im working on making the changes to improve that, writing down every painful burp. Does it make my stomach just warm or really hurt. Thankfully it doesnt rise up to my throat like it used to.

So my changes now, are eating smaller portions, but have to eat more frequently, maybe 5 or 6 times per day, plus the potato at night
Same meals but smaller. half now and half 2 hours later. but the writing down my stomach pain experience if helping. actually how long till I get hungry and feel my stomach empty.
So thats where I am at, not perfect and off the plan when should be eating 3 or 4 times per day plus potato.

Kathleen had a suggestion to read a book "Dropping acid" funny name, but I just ordered it.
But I welcome any suggestions.
