Back to routine

It was wonderful having a 3 day weekend. We did errands and cleaned the way we normally do on weekends, and also got some projects done, but still had time to relax. Sunday was my husband's birthday, so I arranged for some of our friends to meet us for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I managed to keep it a surprise until an hour before, when I had to tell him not to bring the dogs in from their kennel because we had dinner plans. He said "Let's just eat here" so then I had to tell him that it wasn't an option because there were other people involved. We had a fun dinner, and after dinner we all went to one of the couples' house for pie (which I didn't have) and sat out on their deck looking at the full moon.

Now it's back to routine, and as much of part of me wishes the weekend had been longer, there's another part of me that is glad to be back to routine. On weekends I sleep a little later, eat out more and sometimes a meal is late. I'm feeling a wee bit grumpy today. It's nice to know that as I get back into my weekday routine, I will feel better. Today so far I've had breakfast and lunch at my usual time, and I will exercise this afternoon.
