Eating during a meeting

Yesterday I was in a meeting all day. We were working on revising our parent handbook. Being in meetings all day generally messes up my routine a bit, but I do the best I can to take good care of myself. Because this was a fairly informal meeting, I got up when I needed to to use the bathroom and get more water and keep my water consumption as close as possible to normal.

I usually eat lunch at 11:30 because I eat breakfast at 6. At 11:45, it became clear that I needed to eat, whether the group was breaking for lunch at that point or not, so I told everyone that I needed to eat and asked if they would mind if I got my lunch. I added some humor by saying that they really didn't want to see what would happen if I didn't eat now. Everyone said to go ahead. So I brought my lunch down and finished it while we continued talking.

I also usually eat again at 4. I hoped the meeting would end before 5, but at 4:30 I announced again that I needed to get my snack. I came back with chicken and celery and carrots. (Had I known I would be eating in a meeting, I would have picked something quieter, LOL).

I got through the day pretty well. I had to do journal catch up at the end of the day, and at the end of the day I also realized that I never took my vitamins. Today I am helping out with an event that spans the lunch hour, and the food we are providing for the event is not suitable for me, so I will bring my lunch and eat it after I do my presentation. (I am giving families with young children a tour of the Nature Center, a state park in Albuquerque.)
