morning exercise

I feel like I've read about this before, but I cannot find where... so please forgive me... but what's the best policy about breakfast and a morning workout? Eat a full breakfast first? Or don't work out in the morning? I'm trying to figure out how to make my schedule work without sabotaging my breakfast. I started experimenting, but the figuring it out process seems like the long way around to finding the right answer when probably the answer already exists and I don't need to reinvent the wheel. (Forgive my run-on sentence and mixed metaphors. Good grief.)
