Well, I gained weight on step 1 - adding breakfast to everything else I'd been eating definitely resulted in weight gain. It wasn't until Step 3 that my weight became steady. (Which was a miracle because I'd never before been able to wear the same clothes from year to year.) Weight loss didn't happen until well after I'd reached Step 7.
