ABC's of my Radiant Recovery journey

Hi all,
During the month of April bloggers can participate in an A-to-Z Challenge. The idea is to post 26 days in April using the letters of the alphabet for topics. I thought it would be fun to see if I could use the alphabet as a jumping off point to share my journey in Radiant Recovery here.

So A is for Addiction. Easy and obvious choice, eh? When I first read Kathleen DesMaisons' "The Sugar Addicts Totally Recovery Program" people scoffed when I said I thought I was addicted to sugar. That was 16 years ago and a lot has changed since then. Now the damaging effects of sugar are more commonly known and accepted.

One definition of addiction is continued use despite adverse consequences and that is definitely how I would describe how I used sugar to cope with anything that felt hard. And anything that felt good, too, for that matter, lol. So, yes, I would call myself a sugar addict. Luckily, I stayed with sugar and didn't venture into drugs or alcohol.

The good, wonderful, fantastic news is the 7 Steps of Radiant Recovery work. And work beyond just ridding one of cravings for sugar. Along the way so many things changed for the better. Hopefully I will find a way to talk about those changes using the ABC's.

Tune in Monday to see what B is for...I bet you can guess!

At least that's the plan.
