I is for It Is what It Is

Continuing with the it doesn't have to be hard and re-framing theme this is a phrase that helps me stop when I'm struggling against circumstances. In this moment, it is what it is. This is not resignation, it's acceptance. Resignation implies nothing can change, I'm stuck, woe is me, why bother.

Acceptance stops fighting and asks what's going on? Can I make a change? do something differently? Can I go with the flow and see what develops? Acceptance is proactive. Resignation is passive. Acceptance is a warrior, resignation a victim.

Which do I want to be?
