S is for Super Foods

*cool rainy day

Hi all,
Through the years I have collected foods that I consider my can't-do-without foods. I noticed while thinking of what to post today that they all begin with letter S. I'm going to list them in chronological order.

Shake: First comes shake. This has been a stand by from the beginning. For years it was my breakfast currently more often than not it's lunch.

SHC: Eight years ago it was suggested having hot cereal for breakfast would help me feel steadier than putting dry in my shake. I didn't like hot cereal and went around the kitchen muttering about eating stupid hot cereal. One evening I picked up the box of oats and the label had been covered with a post it with "Stupid Hot Cereal" courtesy of darling man. It made me laugh out loud and shifted my attitude. I've eaten hot cereal off and on over the years although I know it's the best brown for breakfast. I currently do cream of buckwheat for breakfast. It's wonderfully steadying.

Spinach: About 7 years ago I added spinach (or other greens) to shake everyday. This was the beginning of learning what a miracle vegetables are.

Sweet Potatoes: Over the past couple years I've come to realize sweet potatoes are a best brown for me. A sweet potato can be topped with anything just like rice can and makes me feel very satisfied. They can be used in yam cakes and muffins. So versatile.

Soup: This is my newest superfood. I discovered I could make homemade vegetable soup and blend it up to use as a base for a soup with a protein and brown.I can heat it as is to drink as a hot broth. I can even drink it cold like V8 juice and add in my All1 vitamins if I'm not planning to have shake for lunch.

So these are my super S foods though admittedly I stretched it a little to get the hot cereal in there.

What's your superfood?
