Hi {!firstname_fix}

Spring is full on here. Tulips everywhere, and yellows and pinks. My lilacs are in bloom again, so when I pull in to the drive, it smells like lilac. Reminds me of high school when my school was surrounded by 12-foot-high lilac bushes.

I got some feedback from a guy who was really upset that I was writing about Ranch (smile). Why are you SELLING things, he wrote. This made me smile. Now, if you got an email about a college course, would you have that reaction? Hardly, LOL. For me, it is simply information. We are planning a Ranch event in May, if you would like to come, we would welcome you. If you have signed up to come, please make sure you call the hotel and reserve your room in our block under Radiant Recovery. Otherwise you may miss the special rate.

Learning About YLD

Following in the grand tradition of the Using the Resources of the Community, this free *tour* will give you a sense of what joining YLD will and will not give you. When you actually start keeping a journal you will be floored to discover that what you thought you 'knew' and what you actually did were very different.

**Testimonial of the Week**

Last evening we had a big thunderstorm and half an inch of rain. We are in a moderate drought so the storm was a blessing.

This morning the dogs and I were taking our morning walk. It was gorgeous out there, the rain was shining off everything in the woods, all the leaves on the trees, the ferns, the flowers, just everything, even shining in the mist when a ray of sun shot through the darkness of the woods.

I have Border Collies and a Toy Poodle. It is nice to walk with the bc's because they just goof around. They aren't hunting dogs, so they don't really use their eyes or nose to look for critters. My poodle caught a scent and reacted just enough to get my attention, but no one else's. I looked up and over where she was looking (by then she was off on something else). That ray of sun was shining off everything...and as I looked I saw a red gold color...I looked harder and in the wet sunshine and the mist I could finally make out the shape of a doe deer. She was standing so stock still that she looked like a tree. I would never have seen her had I not been really looking.

Right away I thought of the yoga tree pose. She gave me a yoga lesson I will always remember when I do that pose. Even I could "feel" the roots she was putting down into the earth to steady her body and breathing and make her invisible to danger. It was just one of those moments in life where as a part of universe I felt so tiny and blessed.

Then I thought what a gift this program has given me. In the pre-RR days I would never have had this morning. First of all, I would never have been out there. The reason is because today was a super busy day for me. I had to be ready to leave for the day by 9:00 am. I am usually home all the time and rarely go anywhere for a whole day.

I had to get up, get my breakfast, walk the dogs, pack my lunch and potluck contribution, do all my chores, shower and dress all before 9:00! In the old days, just the idea of doing that would have stressed me out so much I probably wouldn't have gone.

But today, I had decided yesterday what I would wear, eat, and had a list of things I had to have done before I left. I promised myself I would not turn on the computer until I came home. I was so well prepared that I didn't get anxious or stressed or angry. AND one of the first things I would have done in the old days was to not take time for a walk because I would have been too busy getting ready. So, not only did I get my walk, but I got a special blessing.

Then, after I got back from the walk, my niece called me and needed some help in making a decision that was very serious. I had time because of my planning yesterday to spend 15 minutes on the phone LISTENING to her, not telling her what I thought she should do!

Oh, it was just such a special morning, I am so grateful. Talk about BE raisers--first the deer and then the dear (my niece)!

Plus I had a wonderful time at my day outing! Yep, this program is soooo much more than removing sugar! Cause I haven't even done that yet!

Thank you all for helping me to have this wonderful life.

Carol

**Notes from the Forum **

And thank you too for your kind words.

It's a tonic to see how well you are doing. So much there - the pre-prep and planning, asking for help from your Mom, caring for yourself with those yummy lunches.

I hope you write those achievements in your journal...I keep a space at the back pages to write things of note so I don't lose them. It's good to look back and see those achievements, and good reminders for later. on

I smiled at you leaving your journal in the kitchen because if I do that mine gets covered in dinner. Not that I am a messy cook, I just spread myself about a bit. I keep mine either in my breakfast place, or lately by the sofa where the computer is. That works better for me. When I was all over the place in step three I had a piece of paper in my pocket to write on and transferred it all later on.

Think it's great tapping into your strengths...leftovers you like so, planning some extra for those lunches.

Many people have asked me about Omega 3 fatty acids and the value of taking fish oil. I asked Kathleen to write something for all of you. Click here to read her suggestions. And, of course, we carry great fish oil options.

Epa capsules are a concentrated, odor free, certified heavy metal option for adults. They allow you to get more concentrated EPA without extra Vitamin A.

We have DHA for those of you who are pregnant or nursing. DHA is the fatty acid that is used to make your baby's brain. It is very important in the first three years of life.

And we also carry a very tasty cod liver oil (yes, it IS tasty!) for those of you would like to just put it in your shake or who need a larger dosage. Kathleen gives this to her dogs as well and they have NO skin problems. CLO is a great alternative for those of you who are in perimenopause and may be dealing with heavy bleeding. (sorry for a guy to speaking of a delicate subject). Ask Kathleen for more information on that one.

Please send questions and suggestions. I love hearing from you and truly want to help you do your program better.

**Calling Energy**

Kathleen DesMaisons, Ph.D.

I wonder if you have heard about the idea that we are surrounded by the energy we think about. I think it is like we have a thought magnet in our head. Some people munch all catastrophe and fear. And so this is what seems to happen to them. It is really weird, like they KNOW bad things will happen and then bad things seem to keep happening. It is almost like darkness surrounds them like the dust surrounds pigpen in Charles Schutz' cartoons.

I talk a lot about joy dots...and these are different from affirmations. Affirmations come from the mind creating ideas. Joy dots are emotional responses, a little noticing of a part of joy - the sound of a woodpecker, the light on the leaves, the curve of your child's neck, the smell of puppy breath, the taste of the stew you just made. Feelings...if you let yourself start noticing, the habit grows, and you seem to find more joy dots. I think it is the magnet energy. Somehow, when we step into that feeling mode, the little dots pop up everywhere.

So you can continue the habit of *munching* LOL, don't try to extinguish it, just convert it, flip it into use as a joy dot generator.

And here is a really outrageous idea. I think joy dots call a deeper energy, almost the tone, the vibration of joy and that somehow that is connected to Grace which is the source of joy dots...and that energy will absorb the fear and fill you up with anticipation and expectation of good things. Now, I know that sounds kinda out there, but...it seems to work, over and over. It's like catching joy dots and then they swirl around like the dust around pigpen.

Enough joy dots and we get a joy life.
