Did you miss the NPR interview?

Hi, {!firstname_fix},

I am glad so many of you had a chance to listen to the interview I did on NPR from Connecticut. More people read that announcement than any prior newsletter or note from me. I think you are ready for radio. If you missed it, here is the link. I really enjoyed doing it and it made me realize the strength of what we are doing in the community. Science is catching up, but we have the solution of how to heal sugar addiction!

We still have some places for the day long seminar in Sarasota, Florida next month. If you are tired of cold and snow, it might be a fun outing for you. FrontierAirlines  is running specials to Sarasota.

At a recent chat, we talked about the idea of doing a book study on Potatoes Not Prozac. Jo volunteered to lead on on the Radiant Living list and Allison will be doing it on the Community Forum. I am updating the guide so everyone can be on the same page. We got really excited talking about doing a book study..

Fat Terror

A special class for members of the YLD Program who are very concerned about their weight. This will address the feelings and fear you have about your weight and doing the program. It is open to members of the Your Last Diet Program.

If you are not a YLD member and having joined because of finances, please write me. I am just setting up a monthly payment plan for it.

Ok, I decided that I need to change the description of this plan. I think maybe I need to hold a contest on the Living list because describing what we do is almost impossible. Like trying to catch a goldfish in a Lilly pond.  I will bring. it to Living Chat today.

Your Last Diet

You probably read above that I will be starting the Fat Terror Class on Wednesday.  It will be part of the weight loss series I will do in YLD.

I am also introducing a payment plan option for those who are not able to pay the full annual fee at once. So if that has been holding you back, now you will have a way it.

I know that some of you don't always get to chat. And I also know that just reading the transcript may not give you a real sense of what happens. There is an art to transcript reading because the flow of the conversation is not exactly logical the way a printed piece would be. Also the transcript rarely captures the nuance and joy of real-time interaction.  I am thinking about offering a *guest* option for you to attend a chat and see what you think. My dilemma is that you might come in on one of the days that we are utterly goofy and you will end up thinking why would anyone ever want to do THAT! Sometimes it is a little hard to explain, LOL, that learning to be silly is part of healing sugar sensitive grim.

The Radiant Response

Sue wrote this post in coaching. It just floored me because she totally captured the *radiant response*. I have been thinking about this since I read it.  This is what we are about. This is why I started the community 20 years ago. I had a vision, and now it is an organic loving, kind and supportive healing community.  I am very humbled that we are now living in Radiant Recovery and can welcome new people into the values and support we hold so dear.

When something happens to my car or house, my insurance company has me get 3 estimates. When I buy something, I check it out on 3 websites. When I want to discuss/learn something, I email 3 people. This week when I emailed here about eating something not on my food plan, I also emailed 2 people not in Radiant Recovery. The difference in attitudes and replies was striking.

The other two were horrified at what I had done wrong. They made suggestions of willpower tricks that I should have done instead of eat when I felt hunger. I felt scolded. I think a big part of why I am fat is that for many years I haven't listened to body signals when I am hungry or full. (Part of a larger pattern: I also postponed going to the bathroom when busy and tried to keep a full schedule of activities when sick.)

The radiant response was to look at why I was hungry that day, finding 3 big factors and discussing possible changes with such a sense of humor that I had fun. I felt unleashed, I smiled, I blossomed, and I was flying. I was confident I could make those changes.
