Re: Shake Experiments
In Response To: Shake Experiments ()

I use rolled oats, raw. Steel cut would be too chunky raw. And I found that adding them to the shake the night before makes the shake way too thick, so I put everything in the blender the night before except the oats and the protein powder.

cooked sweet potato would probably be good in shake, with cinnamon. Probably sweet enough so you wouldn't need fruit, and it would be the brown. I will have to try that one of these days.

: I'm experimenting with oats in my
: shake.

: Cooked oats stirred into shake - came
: out kind of goopy, didn't like the
: texture (at that time blender not
: working, so just stirred cooked
: oats in with spoon)

: Uncooked oats blended into shake
: yesterday evening, (blender fixed,
: yay!) and left in frig overnight.
: But the uncooked oats upset my
: stomach as I started drinking.
: So put the whole shake-with-oats in
: pot on low flame to cook through.
: Not bad, but really thick. Talk
: about 'spoonable', lol.

: Shake consists of:
: 1 scoop PP = 20 gr. protein
: (appropriate for me)
: 1/4 uncooked steel-cut oats
: 1 tbsp. almond butter
: 2 tbsp. whole-sesame tahini
: 1 date - chopped
: Approx. 1 cup water

: Note: Berries not available here, and
: bananas are a trigger for me.
: Don't know if they'd be a trigger
: in shake. Can't have them sitting
: on kitchen countertop. Maybe get
: some, freeze in halves and keep
: 'em out of sight in
: freezer.......hmm..
