*cranes flying over the house every morning
*white crowned sparrows singing and chirping in our hedge
*a picnic with my husband in a sunny clearing on top of the Sandia mountains
*seeing red crossbills on the mountain
*gorgeous scenery on the way up and back down the mountain road - golden aspens mixed in with the dark green evergreens, and orange oak leaves
*the smell of fallen leaves as we walked the trail
*program friendly banana muffins at breakfast
*a gift of Oryx stew meat from my husband's boss - we can make stew in the slow cooker with red New Mexico chilis
*multiple Red Tailed Hawk sightings over the weekend
*brand new sheets on the bed - crisp and very smooth and I finally got my way and we got blue instead of beige
*getting to spend cuddle time with each of our dogs
*ripe Bartlett pears
*watching a wonderful movie, Red Dog (highly recommend you rent it if you like dogs, based on a true story) while curled up with my red dog, my golden retriever Lucy
*got a pretty new blouse for a very good price at a sale
*wearing a new raspberry colored sweater with fringe today
