Re: Protein powder
In Response To: Protein powder ()

: Hi there,

: My first post.

: Just wondering about protein shakes.
: I have been taking soy protein
: with 30g, but when you blend the
: fruit aswell, doesn't it just make
: sugar because you strip out the
: fibre?

: Is it still good for this program?

: Also, a secong question if I may?
: there seems to be alot of sugar
: (probably lactose) in yoghurt
: versus the carbohydrates, do this
: mean its not good for sugar
: sensitive types - even if you mix
: it with protein powder?

: Thanks
: Matt

Hi Matt :h24)

Welcome Matt! I am glad you are posting!

I am soy intolerant, so I don't use soy protein powder. :s7( Also, soy is estrogenic meaning it has estrogen properties (a female hormone). :h9) While men have some estrogen in their bodies, I am not sure if this is a good thing for men to be eating. :h3)

I love the whey protein powder "Restore" that is sold in the RR store. :h4) Mixing fruit with it doesn't destroy the properties of the protein powder.

I have done a lot of yogurt investigation. :h26) I used to eat fruit flavored yogurt, but it has a lot of sugar and it only contains 8 gms of protein. :s7( Greek yogurt has 18-20 gms of protein and I find it works well for me. I think whether dairy works for you is an individual thing. :h5)

What step of the program are you on Matt? How is breakfast going? I am excited to hear all about your program. :h2)
