Spicy Food & BE

I was really astounded to read about spicy food raising BE in my newly purchased copy of SARP!

I still need to "digest" that for a moment.
You see, spicy food is an *issue* in our home.
My husband is of Middle Eastern background and LOVES spicy food.
I am of Eastern European background and it's *Burn Baby Burn* when I eat spicy food.

We are forever making compromises in our joint cooking adventures......how many chili peppers can I stand to have in the pot :s4(

Who would've thought that I was denying poor hubby of his BE's :s7(

Now........what about my BE's??
If my body says "Hot, hot......FIRE!!!" is it telling me spicy stuff won't do it for my body's chemistry?
Or would it be advisable for me to eat food on the spicier rather than blander spectrum (to the extent that I can)?

Does anyone have a clue??
I'm REALLY interested.
I'll bet hubby will LOVE to hear that Kathleen says spicy raises BE's.
Do I dare tell him???
Kathleen even says that leaving New Mexico for a while will put a person in withdrawal, LOL!!
Poor hubby, every other pot of whatever we cook I put him into withdrawal :s3(

This is a subject I'd really like to better understand.
Who'd like to enlighten me? :h11)

Thanks,
Sarit
