Re: All stressed out
In Response To: All stressed out ()

: Hi guys...I've got myself all
: stressed out and I haven't even
: finished the book yet :-/

: I know that I have to finish the book
: and then take one step at a time
: and I do totally agree that that's
: the right way to go about it
: but...I felt such a massive high
: reading the first part of the book
: and babbled away about it all to
: everyone...I kept re-reading the
: science stuff as I found it all
: exciting and then started stalling
: at step one. I do get that you
: have to read the whole thing
: before starting but I started
: getting all stressed about what I
: was eating and seeing sugar
: EVERYWHERE!! I guess this is a
: very normal phase to go through
: and I want to just get on and read
: it without feeling overwhelmed by
: it all. I guess part of me doesn't
: want to head into another winter
: feeling depressed...as those
: feelings have already started to
: creep in after a really positive
: summer.

: I also worry about the enormity of
: cutting sugar out as it seems to
: be in everything!!If you cut out
: alcohol and drinks with
: sugar/sweetners when out and about
: is water and decaff tea/coffee the
: only option? Again I know I don't
: need to worry about this right
: this minute but just curious?? I
: guess I need to stop
: catastrophising....

: Thanks for listening to my
: ramblings.... x

Hi AE: :h24)

When I first started the program I asked all the same questions you are asking. :h26) Would I need to stop eating sugar? Would I need to stop drinking diet drinks? Would I need to go off my anti-depressant? Would I have to give up caffeine? :s3(

Kathleen, herself answered and said "You don't HAVE to give up anything." :h11) I was a bit shocked and non plussed by that answer. But, it is true. This is a program of abundance. :h7) I added in things before I ever took them out and carefully, slowly went through the steps. I had a lot of things to learn and changes to make, but they aren't hard if you do very small steps (we call them nanos) at a time. I have tried at times to cut various things out of my diet cold turkey, but that never works for me. :s2( I am a taper kind of girl. :h6)

The first step is my favorite. I guess because I have come to love my breakfast and look forward to it. Just focusing on breakfast and getting step one down made a very huge change in my life.

PS You don't have to read the whole book first. :h3) I just read the chapter on the step I was on right before and while I was doing the step. I didn't get as stressed out :s4( that way.

I look forward to hearing from you!
