My family do not understand at all - well, they are not sugar sensitive - or perhaps the couple who may be, are not in a place to see at present.
However, its all ok - they may not get it, but over time they have got used to my requests and if we are out are always on the lookout for my next meal time and scanning for good food for me. Thats more than good enough.
and that was achieved just by doing my own thing, so I hope something similar will work out for you.
