Typically this message comes up when your ISP (Internet service provider) is experiencing difficulties.

Another possibility is, we know that Yahoo was having a lot of issues with overload or some other problems over the past week.

I suggest you try again. I don't think it's any issue with your computer, and this is the type of thing that usually clears up once Yahoo or your ISP gets less overloaded. I know for myself everything on the Internet seemed really slow over the holiday weekend - probably all those new computers everyone got.
