Hi Doreen. I'm thinking that maybe you have lost the dns settings on your computer. Those are a set of numbers or sometimes two sets of numbers that are put in. Try putting this number in the address window: 216.239.37.99 If that takes you to google.com, it is a dns problem that you are having. You will probably need to call your ISP to get the numbers and the instructions on where to put them.

If you cannot get to that address with just the number, it means that it is not a dns problem. I think I understand you correctly - the browser opens up, but you just don't get to any address that you put in there, right? Try the number, see what happens, if it works that way, then either look at the original instructions you got for getting online or call your ISP so they can talk you through it.
