OK, one thing at a time:
First, you should be doing these things from the Yahoo Groups page. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com and then go to the page for one of your groups that you want to unsubscribe from.

Click on Edit Membership
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Leave Group
If it asks you to confirm, be sure to push whatever button or link to confirm it.

If you want to switch to digest mode, go to the same page (Edit Membership), and click the button that says "Daily digest - Receive a daily compilation of many emails in one message."
After that you MUST click Save Changes or nothing will change.

As far as signing up for other groups, I can only help if you tell me step by step what you are doing that isn't working.

As far as using the email address healthie@verizon.net, as I asked in my other post, is that a valid real email address? If not, it won't work. If so, tell me what you did to try to change it?
