I usually access the RR site and forum on a PDA which I got this January, largely for the RR website, online classes, and community forum. Before that, I used my mobile phone with a web browser called "Opera Mini" to do so.
Opera Mini is fast, free, (except for the data plan charges) easy to use, allows surfing of the full web (not just "WAP" - wireless application protocol sites) and doesn't require large amounts of data to be transferred.
The reason for all this - I am away from a computer during the day. It is difficult to use the family desktop when I am home due to distractions, exhaustion, other family demands etc.
Which leads me to my request:
Would it be very difficult to include all the "drop down" menu options at the top of the website (eg, "making connections", "resources", etc) available on the left hand side as separate buttons/items as well?
The reason is that all three mobile web browsers I have tried do not support these "drop down" menus. They are not full featured web browsers and don't have some sort of special graphics capability necessary for these drop down menus to work.
This means I cannot access most of the site features on these drop down menus except for the one which becomes the default selection for the micro browser. Luckily, I am able to access the forum which is where I mainly go to.
For example, I cannot access this technical forum except on a desktop computer.
I realize there is not a dedicated IT guru available for every whim and fancy, but hopefully this is a simple solution which could be made to accommodate us increasingly mobile types.
Any chance? Please pretty please without the sugar on top?
Sincerely,
Tim
