I have had a look at my java runtime environment in Firefox. I am running SUN JRE1.5.1 (anyway the latest version). I am using Open Suse 10.2 as my operating system. It appears that my Java is not compatible with talking to any Microsoft chat sites. Is there another java program that I can install on my Linux box?

I tried geting in to the YLD chat last night (wednesday) for the Downunder chat (at a public library). I didn't get past the sigma chat sign in - userid/password box. I tried my first name but a message saying "Error connecting to server. Try again in a few minutes." I tried to connect when the chat was schduled. Is this because I need a personal user id and password from the YLD chat administrator?
