I don't know for sure but it could be a few things.

first, it could just be Yahoo delays. Sometimes they have server problems which delay mails going through.

Second, some of the lists just automatically put new members on moderated, so it may take a bit longer for them to get approved and the moderator to take you off moderation.

It's a good idea to send email to the list moderator and ask. If you go to the web site for the list, it will give an email address for the list moderator.
