Angela, you are doing it just fine, and there is not a more proper way.

The Yahoo group does not allow pictures through the email group, so if someone has some sort of graphical background, picture or icon, the group strips that off. the message you are referring to is simply something that Yahoo puts in automatically, and it's not something you have to worry about doing intentionally.
