Leigh,
You should be able to just click "Reply" like you would reply to any other email that did not come from a group. I don't really know how Yahoo email works, but all types of email that I know of have an option to just simply Reply. Then you should be able to do all the things you are mentioning.

If this doesn't work, you need to contact your email provider (is it Yahoo?) and ask them.
