Karin,
This is easy to do...
Go to the web site for each of your groups. (If you don't have it bookmarked already, there is a link in each email you get from the group that says "visit my group".
Once you get to the web page for each group, click "Edit Membership"
Then scroll down, and under Step 2. Message Delivery, click Special Notices. That means you won't get any emails from the group, unless the group moderator sends it as a special notice (pretty rare).
If Kathleen sends an email to the group, you won't get that either unless she sends it as a special notice. I assume this is what you mean, though.
Once you feel ready to start receiving emails from any of the groups again, you just go back in and change the message delivery option to what you want.
