Hi Kitty, I don't know what happened, but right after my last post, I tried again and I got in.

yes, I have been to chat since fall I think and I do have Java installed on my new computer. I couldn't even get to the screen with the optional stuff, it was the screens before that. But it appears to be solved now, so thanks anyway.
