Hi Denise -
Sounds like you're rushing things a little. Getting to 'sugar-free' is Step 6, and is achieved by working first through steps 1 to 5 in order. We have to allow time for our brain chemistry to heal before we're ready do go completely off of sugars.
As for starving between meals, a protein and complex carbohydrate snack could be helpful.
Sounds like you're keeping your journal - good going!!
How about letting us know how your breakfast is going - this can get a dialog started and help get you support.

: Hello, I am a newbie. I have been
: following the program for a few
: months, though off and on. I am
: happy to finally understand what
: has been happening to me. I have
: been bingeing for over 20 years
: now, ever since I started my first
: diet. I am having a lot of
: difficulty eliminating sugar. When
: I reread my journal I see how it
: creeps in. And I haven't been a
: part of any support groups which
: could also be the reason.
: I find that I am starving at 11am and
: 4pm. I am trying to hold off until
: lunch and dinner, but it is really
: hard. And I have the strongest
: cravings for sugar. I see a box of
: tic tacs and I could down the
: whole thing no problem.
: Any suggestions are greatly
: appreciated.
