HI Jan,
What I'd probably do is eat regular breakfast, lunch and snack, and bring an appetizer to the cookout, like veggies and hummus, for people to eat while the burgers are cooking. So it ends up being a longer dinner, starting with veggies and brown and ending with protein. But if you're in a place where your stability is going well with those specific timings and that's what you'd like to do, then I'd vote stability over going with the crowd's timing. I found the longer I've done the program, the more stability I have even with flexible timings (up to a point).
Happy holiday!

: Hi everyone. I can remain satisfied
: and blood sugar fairly stable if I
: eat a large breakfast, lunch at
: noon, snack at 3, and dinner at 5
: or 6.
: We are invited to a cookout tomorrow
: night at 6 pm. In order to FEEL
: good and not get grouchy, I would
: have to eat my dinner before I go
: over there... and then what do I
: do when the burgers are ready to
: eat at 7?
: I really haven't been able to figure
: out how to be social, except for
: maybe have a HUGE afternoon snack,
: so I will last till dinner?
: What do y'all do?
