Hi Trudi
Sometimes I have hot cereal for breakfast. What I do is to mix some protein powder (I use Restore sold on this website) into some Greek yogurt and then stir that into the oatmeal, enough to give me the amount of protein I need. You could also try adding the protein powder to your oat milk, but you'd have to use more protein powder because oat milk doesn't have much protein. But that would be a start.

The oatmeal and toast are complex carbs, so the peanut butter is the only protein in your current breakfast. But getting in the habit of eating within an hour is a good thing. I always woke up hungry and ate right away, but I know a lot of people are used to waiting before eating.

: But would welcome some ideas about
: how to make porridge high protein.
: My husband and I eat usually have
: a bowl of porridge made with Oat
: milk, chopped banana and dried
: prunes followed by a slice of
: wholegrain toast and peanut butter
: but I'm guessing the porridge and
: toast count only as complex
: carbs??
