Thanks for your comments, Allison and Sheelie.
I do find that enough protein makes a positive difference. Perhaps even more than that: enough complex carbohydrates! I have done low-carb so many times, and it has been a great experience to allow myself complex carbs. I enjoy my food more and don't get hungry as quickly.
