My brother-in-law got married on Saturday. It was his second marriage. His first wife, who he married right after graduating from high school, passed away about 3 years ago. A few months ago, he asked us to meet him for lunch and said he wanted us to meet someone. He met this lovely woman and they decided to get married. He asked my husband to be his best man.
The wedding was at 1, but we needed to be there at 11 because my husband was in the wedding party. The reception was at the church, so I knew that there wouldn't be a lot of food. If we had just been regular guests, we would have gone out for lunch before the ceremony, but that wasn't really an option. So before we left our house, I had some leftover pork chop and brown rice. I also packed some cheese sticks and yam cakes.
It was a small wedding, mostly family. The food was mostly finger food. I had some raw vegetables, the filling from a sandwich, and some cheese with deli meat rolled around it. After the reception, we went back to my BIL's house for gift opening. By that time I was getting hungry again and I was thirsty. On the way home I ate my snacks and we stopped at Starbucks where I got an iced herbal tea. My dinner was a little later than I would have liked, but I was all right.
It was a lovely day. I had some nice joy dots, too. There were rose bushes at the church, and I sniffed every single one. I went out to buy a gift card for the bride and groom after we got to the church, and when I returned I could hear a juvenile Cooper's Hawk making "feed me" noises, so I stopped what I was doing to locate it. And there were some lovely rainbows on the way home, because it was raining near the mountains.
