Re: Going to a wedding

Sounds like a wonderful day, Allison. And looks like the planning worked well for your food.

My brother-in-law got married on
: Saturday. It was his second
: marriage. His first wife, who he
: married right after graduating
: from high school, passed away
: about 3 years ago. A few months
: ago, he asked us to meet him for
: lunch and said he wanted us to
: meet someone. He met this lovely
: woman and they decided to get
: married. He asked my husband to be
: his best man.

: The wedding was at 1, but we needed
: to be there at 11 because my
: husband was in the wedding party.
: The reception was at the church,
: so I knew that there wouldn't be a
: lot of food. If we had just been
: regular guests, we would have gone
: out for lunch before the ceremony,
: but that wasn't really an option.
: So before we left our house, I had
: some leftover pork chop and brown
: rice. I also packed some cheese
: sticks and yam cakes.

: It was a small wedding, mostly
: family. The food was mostly finger
: food. I had some raw vegetables,
: the filling from a sandwich, and
: some cheese with deli meat rolled
: around it. After the reception, we
: went back to my BIL's house for
: gift opening. By that time I was
: getting hungry again and I was
: thirsty. On the way home I ate my
: snacks and we stopped at Starbucks
: where I got an iced herbal tea. My
: dinner was a little later than I
: would have liked, but I was all
: right.

: It was a lovely day. I had some nice
: joy dots, too. There were rose
: bushes at the church, and I
: sniffed every single one. I went
: out to buy a gift card for the
: bride and groom after we got to
: the church, and when I returned I
: could hear a juvenile Cooper's
: Hawk making "feed me"
: noises, so I stopped what I was
: doing to locate it. And there were
: some lovely rainbows on the way
: home, because it was raining near
: the mountains.
