Just like clockwork

*cuddling with my dog
*lots and lots of hummingbirds in our yard

One of the things that happens when you get steady is that your body gets used to eating at consistent times and starts asking for food at those times. Today that worked out really well. My husband and I had made an appointment for one of our dogs who had a wound we wanted to get checked out. The appointment was for this morning. We were both out in the yard working. DH was mowing our field with the neighbor's tractor And I was weeding and daydreaming. Suddenly I realized that I was starting to feel hungry. Uh oh, that meant it must be getting near the time of the appointment! (I did not schedule it for my lunchtime, but it was at about the time I normally first begin to think about eating again. I went inside to check the time, and it was time to get ready to go.

I really would have had no idea it was that late without that signal from my very predictable stomach. (And yes, I should have been wearing a watch in the first place.) Our dog's wound appears to have healed well, but because it was a puncture wound, she will take antibiotics.
