Re: Question: Timing of eating a potato before sleeping...

: Hi Allison,

: Thank you so much for replying to my
: post so quickly : )

: I have only recently read the PNP
: Book and the Sugar Addict's Guide
: book.

: 3 months ago, before I read these
: books, I cut out all sugars (inc.
: natural sugar in fruits) and
: simple carbs (wheat, rice etc.).

: I'm got over my sugar addiction with
: some bumps along the way... no
: doubt would have been easier if I
: had followed the program.

: I recently tried a potato every night
: for week, and felt really great in
: the morning for a change... also
: my moods were very stable... the
: books explain why very well... now
: I'm sold on the idea !

: But... here I am in the middle of
: things, having done most of what
: the program calls for (inc.
: vitamins and eating breakfasts,
: 4-5 hrs. betw. meals), so I'm a
: bit of an odd case.

: I'm going to reread both books and
: try to find where I can improve
: things... happy to hear any of
: your suggestions.

: Just to clarify...

: In regards to the timing of eating
: potato in the evening:
: Does your advice mean that even if
: one ate an early supper, you
: should always eat the potato at
: around 3 hours after supper ? (I
: go to bed around midnight every
: night now)

: I can eat my supper and finish around
: 7 pm;
: eat my potato around 10 pm;
: perform my Oil Pulling Therapy &
: Waterpik routine around 11:30
: pm...
: and this won't negate or disrupt the
: benefits of my potato-eating,
: correct ?

: What had me wondering about the
: timing before bed/sleep was
: thinking the amount of time before
: I went to bed was also a very
: important part of the plan... and
: I'm understanding now that isn't
: the case, correct?

: thanks for reading my very-wordy
: explanation... much appreciated !

Hi Cael,

I am going to offer you a slightly different perspective.

What you are doing is Cael's program. I will respectfully disagree with you about *getting over* your sugar addiction.
What you have done is the equivalent of an alcoholic stopping drinking and thinking he is in recovery. If you take out all fruits as well, you
are setting yourself up for a major crash down the line.

The program is designed to actually require your brain and take you way deeper than *getting over* something. I am going to invite you
to consider having a *beginner's mind* and coming back to the steps to do them one at a time, in order, with our help and counsel in mastering them.

Now, you may decide that you would prefer to just go ahead with *Cael's* program which is fine by me, but it sure won't give you what the actual one will give you.

Warmly,

Kathleen
