I sympathize-- ethically, I would prefer to be vegan as well,
and I did eat that way for a long time, but I was *really* not stable.
Since doing RR and eating meat regularly, I have to admit that
it works so much better for me (except for that blocked-up
feeling -- for me, it's not exactly constipation; it's more like
a general stiffening, as weird as that sounds).
I'm trying to find my way to a place like JoEllen describes.
I try and stack animal and plant sources of protein,
so I'm never relying just on animals, and I try to ethically
and locally source my meat and dairy, so that I feel better
about eating it. That seems to make me feel best both physically
and emotionally, though I'm definitely still learning about
amounts and proportions.
