Thanks Kathleen, appreciate that :) Glad to know I can work the programme as a vegan

I'm in my early 40s.

I already do 3 of the 4 things in step one - I'm not the kind of sugar addict who misses meals, and I have oats for breakfast (have done for years) and I eat within an hour of waking. I have seeds and soya milk already, so it's just a case of upping that protein quantity more. I have often had smoothies in the morning with oats, so I'm going that way.

I did read the book pretty carefully (I have a PhD - though not a medical one! - so I'm fairly thorough!) I guess the 'protein and mr spud' thing may have seemed reductive, but those really are the two things I'm most interested in noticing the effect of. But that may shift as I go along in the process.
