Re: New to programme - vegan

Almond milk actually has very little protein, unfortunately. It is my favorite non-dairy milk.

I know you are already off on your weekend trip, but what I do in situations like that is to take something like whole grain crackers (Wasa crisps, for instance) and natural peanut butter. That will usually hold me until breakfast is served, and it doesn't require refrigeration.

: Thanks Kathleen.

: Yep, I do know about soy and
: estrogen, and actually it's
: something I worry about a little
: (particularly because my 9 year
: old drinks only soya milk and
: loves to eat tofu, and is obsessed
: with edamame beans!) but I've
: never really taken much time to
: read about it or find
: alternatives. Maybe I should swap
: to almond milk, which I also
: really like. I assume that's
: probably fairly high in protein
: too.

: I did notice the age of the book
: (academic habits die hard, always
: check the citation date, ha!) so
: I'll be sure to keep plugged into
: the advice here. It's much nicer
: to have a one-to-one dialogue
: anyway,

: I am finding it quite a relief in
: some ways to just focus on the
: step I'm on. I'm going away on a
: retreat this weekend. Breakfast
: will be after an hour but I may be
: able to find space to get my own
: at. There will be protein things
: there (it's usually porridge with
: soya milk, raisins and seeds) but
: I might have to take something
: additional to bump up the protein.
: That's quite enough to think about
: at the moment! So I can see where
: the stability and steadiness is
: helpful.

: Have a lovely weekend, and thanks
: again :h11)
