It sounds like maybe you are trying to do the whole program at once. If you have just been doing the program for 6 weeks, you shouldn't even be worrying about sugar - you should still be eating it. Removing the sugar comes much later in the process.
How about going back to breakfast? It has 4 parts
enough protein
a complex carb (whole grain bread, potato, sweet potato, oats)
within an hour of getting up
every day
When you do the steps slowly, your body adjusts to the changes and it isn't a struggle. If it's a struggle, you are going too fast.
The program is definitely worth doing. It has changed my life in so many ways, beyond what I even hoped for when I started. If you do it slowly, the way we are meant to, I don't think you will regret it.
