Hi Kathleen,
I am ever so grateful to have a forum like this to gain support and education and especially grateful that the author of the books are here to share and take the time to answer our questions, so if that was not obvious and it seems like I'm just going to "do whatever Heather wants to do," I want you to know that that is not at all how I meant it to come across.
I have read the book front to back twice and I have gone back numerous times to refer to the steps you are referring to. I'm not trying to be argumentative but trying to find something that works for me and this works for me! Yay!
According to the formula in the book, I should be eating about 80 grams of protein a day. Does that sound right? My breakfast has always been the egg and toast and maybe a pc of canandian bacon, but I have upped that to two eggs and sausage which is 25 grams. This seems sufficient to me. My three meals go very well and I am not hungry. I feel great. I was just wondering if on the long nights where I go 5 or 6 hours between dinner and bed, if I could have a pc of fruit. This is mostly b/c I'm a bit bored. I don't have to have the fruit, but just wondering if I could work it in somehow and what the science would be... if it was better with protein or without. Forget the fruit. It's not that important. I'll figure that out.
I'm in al-anon and I journal everyday. I use the pages full of feelings that are from the book. I've been using them for years, as I picked up this book years ago and did NOT do all the reading before I started to jump in, but this time I really have taken your advice and have gone extra slow so as to master each step. My journal is very thorough and I've used it to look back and see what I did and improve on what would be better next time. So I'm not sure why you don't think I've been journaling. Again, thank you for your time. I realize it's probably difficult to figure it all out just by writing back and forth.
Respectfully,
Heather
: Hi Heather,
: Mosaic is sleeping so I will chime
: in....
: Hi Mosaic!
: Actually we only say this when
: someone isn't
: I've been doing the steps
: Step one has 4 parts. One of which is
: haveing adequate protein for your
: weight,
: and I know that an egg or two
: wouldn't qualify. So when someone
: come in and
: tells us they have mastered this step
: but they haven't we always talk
: about it again.
: I love this
: Step 3 is way more than protein at
: every meal. If you are using the
: formula in the book,
: You would weigh about 36 pounds LOL.
: So something is amiss
: I'm great at journaling.
: We can respectfully disagree on this
: one
: I have been
: You can do whatever you want,
: Heather.
: But I think you haven't read the book
: because you are asking how not to
: do the program rather how to master
: it and its principles.
: Nope, that is not what we are doing.
: And I was
: If you just do the potato without
: building on the other steps, it
: doesn't make a whole lot
: of difference.
: Well you sorta blew Mosaic off, and I
: have a hunch you might tell me you
: know better than I do as well.
: You might just do whatever you want
: and see what happens. If you
: decide you want to make some
: changes,
: give me a shout, and we can touch
: base on it.
: Warmly,
: Kathleen
