Hi Alissa. What step are you on? How long have you been doing the program?

I needed snacks for a long time when I started step 3. I finally got to the point where I didn't need snacks, but then my schedule changed and I started exercising as well and I needed a snack again. The way I approached snacks was to eat them at a specific time, and to make sure I was having protein and a complex carb, not snacking on junk food or sweets. I also worked on my meals, to figure out what foods worked best for me and how much food I needed. It's always better to have a snack than to have a blood sugar crash. You may find, over time, that you don't need them anymore. My blood sugar is definitely a lot more stable than it was when I started. It had been messed up for so long when I started that it was somewhat volatile even after I started eating more protein and healthy foods. Then it settled down.
