Hi Bethy
The reason we eat breakfast within an hour is that when we wake up, it's been hours since we last ate, and the fuel tank is on empty, I find it works best for me if I start breakfast within half an hour of getting up and finish it by the time the hour is up. If I wait until the hour is almost up, my blood sugar is starting to crash, which is what we want to avoid. Even if it means you need a snack later, it's better biochemically to eat breakfast earlier. Two weeks into the program, you don't really need to be concerned with the other steps. They will sort themselves out later.
If I eat breakfast late and my blood sugar has started to crash, it throws my whole day off, and I am actually hungrier throughout the day.

: Thank you so much for your response!
: It is so funny you mention
: sticking with the same things for
: months - that is completely me and
: I'm quite okay with it but still
: keeping my options open for new
: things. I was killing all four
: parts to Step One until another
: great benefit of this program
: kicked in, and that is slowly
: becoming an early morning person
: once again! I've been keeping up
: with it but put it off until the
: last 5 minutes of my hour after
: getting up so I'm not having super
: early lunches and dinners. But I'm
: working on that too - my emotional
: attachment to meals. I have been
: loving coming home and cooking,
: but I need to admit to myself I
: cannot do it every night as I get
: home too late. Anyhow, I am so
: thrilled to be on this journey, I
: am so glad I found this book and
: this place.
