thanks BettyJane, its great to be in this together
the great thing about the oatmeal, I found, was that when I combined it with protein instead of having it alone, getting the protein to my right amount stopped the heartburn
it was quite an enlightening message to me about how my body speaks, because I was so used to ignoring such things and powering through it because it was supposed to be good for me...… that bit, right in step one, really did help me not to ignore those signals, and how to listen to physical things as well as feeling things. I learnt my body doesn't do subtle after all LOL she's really quite loud in communication when I learnt how to hear and feel
then I chose shake for a while ( for convenience on busy mornings) and I couldn't handle that - heartburn again ! But I did like the shake, so I would make it up really thick, and put seeds in as well, and nuts, and eat it with a spoon... I still don't do well with runny volumes, so if its soup or something I make it really spoon-standing thick
I don't choose oats these days, though I do nostalgically miss them in a way, they always were a bingey food for me, and my journal into step seven showed they weren't suiting me that well, I would get very anxious surges with oats, and I really couldn't leave them alone, a bit like sugar
. But having said that, I believe they are a wonderful mainstay for most people and so very versatile!
I see Allison posted a recipe for oat bars too which would be great for portability. Karen had one oat bar recipe I remember which was cheese, oat, egg and carrots all baked in a slab... delicious. I have a savoury tooth
. For breakfast this morning I
: had a shake with 30g of protein
: and 2 pieces of buttered sprouted
: bread.
this looks like a brilliant start
enjoy your book and shake! Im picturing you reading along at breakfast
