Traffic Jam

Before the program, I used to stress out a lot about things I had no control over. In fact, I just plain used to stress out a lot. While I cannot say that I never stress out, I am much calmer now in general.

Today, when I was driving to work, there was a major traffic jam because of an accident. The traffic didn't back up until after I'd passed the only exit that could have provided an alternate route. I knew I was going to be late for work. But I didn't have anything scheduled, and I had good music in the car, so I just relaxed and enjoyed my music, because there was nothing I could do about it. It gave me extra time to enjoy my music, and even though it's not fun being stuck in traffic, it's even less fun for the people who had the accident that caused the traffic, so I figure I shouldn't complain. I saw the hawk I often see on my way to work, and now I'm here safe and sound. So much better than spending the ride fretting about the traffic.
