: Hi Sarah,
: Adding on to Kathleen's wonderful
: suggestion--
: I travel with my blender everywhere I
: drive. I bring protein powder,
: almond milk, nut butter, instant
: oats (I cook them in the microwave
: the night before and store them in
: the fridge for the morning), and
: green bananas (I'm on step 7 and
: so don't want sweet ones).
: That way my breakfast shake is always
: guaranteed. I also add ice from
: the hotel.
: At Subway I've gotten a salad with a
: double scoop of tuna fish. I bring
: oatcakes for a brown. I also carry
: individual packs of nut butter in
: my purse to put on them. Works
: great.
: Those foil packs of tuna are handy.
: I've added them to frozen dinners
: to buff up the protein count and
: mixed in some frozen veggies like
: broccoli florets, top with avocado
: for an easy peasy microwave
: dinner. I bring a bowl to do this
: in.
: You can bring a bag of those mini
: potatoes and microwave one at
: night before bed. You could bring
: a small bottle of olive oil to use
: for dipping.
: Have a wonderful trip!

Love this suggestion about Subway, JoEllen. its a good reminder for me in several ways, and as a traveller I can find Subways all over the world now and even in airports where I wouldn't necessarily expect them
I remember a few years ago doing a big 'road trip' in USA, and I remember some eating places and their situations just as well as the official "Sights" specially a subway in Boston, and one at the end of the Staten Island Ferry ( seems food does always anchor my memories LOL)
I liked the chopped salad and though I always thought to try and get some extra protein I usually went for chicken and cheese, but it wasn't enough really. The tuna was much more dense for me and satisfying but I never thought to ask for two scoops till much later on in the trip. Mind you I had to call on DH to explain "tuna" all the time., in subway and in the supermarket getting those pouches. No one could understand my accent, and going tuna ,tuna, tuna, tuna Tuna over and over didn't work Neither did tunafish . Or 'decaf' was another even when I tried an American accent
Ah well I have learnt to say, two scoops please, for a cheerful outcome
Im glad to have your reminder of subways again to keep in my box of tricks
