: A year ago, when I had my yearly
: woman's checkup, the doctor's
: office scheduled my next one. It
: was supposed to be on Monday. When
: I arrived at the doctor's office,
: they told me I did not have an
: appointment. Apparently, whoever
: was working the desk the day I
: made it had made out an
: appointment card for me but never
: put the appointment into the
: computer.

: The young woman at the desk
: apologized multiple times and made
: me another appointment. I wasn't
: happy about the mix up, but it
: wasn't her fault (she wasn't even
: working there at the time) so I
: was nice about it. The doctor's
: office isn't that far from my
: office, and I was using my lunch
: hour for part of the appointment
: so I didn't end up having to use
: any sick time. (I did make sure to
: eat my lunch at my desk earlier.
: No skipping lunch for me!

: . I will speak to the doctor about it
: when I see her. (She owns the
: practice.) So before the program,
: I probably wouldn't have yelled at
: anyone, but I would have been way
: more upset and resentful that my
: time had been wasted. When I got
: home and told my husband about it,
: he told me he hoped that I had
: raised a big fuss about it. I was
: thinking, why bother? It just
: would have stressed out the person
: at the desk, and gotten me all
: riled up, and it wouldn't have
: changed anything. I don't want to
: get all riled up. Speaking to the
: doctor about it when I see her
: will probably accomplish more than
: getting all upset at the person at
: the desk anyway.
